In the wake of the recent Panda and Penguin updates, website owners/managers should be updating their content more frequently… more like

every month.

Your website may or may not already have an internal blog. If you do not, you can setup a free, external blog with websites such as Blog.com, Blogger.com, etc…

Frequency:

1 blog post per week (4 per month)

Length:

Around 200-250 words excluding the title.

Title:

The title must be an “appealing hook” to entice someone to read the your post. If you are targeting a specific keyword phrase, be sure to work the keyword into your title.

Body:

Think carefully about the ‘style’ of writing you want to develop. Remember that a blog, like your clothes, is an extension of you. For many people, your blog site may be the only thing they identify you with, so ensure the blog reflects who you are. Blog writing does not follow hard rules and guidelines, so feel free to develop your own style. Share personal experiences, stories etc. which tend to make users feel comfortable and ‘at home.’ You can also provide additional links, video, documents and images, within the blog post.
