How to develop monthly SEO content, a message from your SEO Consultant: Part 3 of 3

Blog Posts, Press Releases, Industry Articles

INDUSTRY ARTICLES

In the wake of the recent Panda and Penguin updates, website owners/managers should be updating their content more frequently… more like every month.  Industry articles should be submitted

to free article websites such as Ezine Articles.

Frequency:

1 Press Release (1 per month)

Length:

Around 500-600 words excluding the title

Title/headline:

The title (sometimes called the headline) of the industry article should grab the reader’s attention. It’s advisable to keep the length within 75 characters and to include a targeted keyword.

Introduction Paragraph:

You can start by discussing a problem that caused usage of a product/service/advice which is offered on your website.  Another option is to write a short story of an experience by you and/or one of your clients.

The Body:

Discuss all solutions to the problem you discussed in the introduction. Break up each solution into micro-paragraphs and try to keep them to about 5-6 sentences.  In addition, creating sub headings within the micro-paragraphs makes it easier to read, since roughly 80% of people scan rather than reading word for word on the Internet.

Conclusion:

This should include a brief summary of your article and a call to action– i.e. “Be sure to include article marketing as one of the top strategies for promoting your web site.  It’s a cheap and high return on investment marketing technique that produces a constant flow of visitors.”

Resource box (footer):

In this area, include a brief overview about yourself and your business.  In addition, provide a link to your web site/blog/social media profile.  The footer provides an area for readers to learn more about you, subscribe to your newsletter, etc… Be sure to always reuse the footer on ever article!
